TJMaxx update

Ok so I got hired at TJMaxx the end of September. I so love it there. I really enjoy all the people I work with and over all I think it is a great company to work for.. I am working part time and they were working around my colorguard schedule which was awesome because I love teaching. The store is really busy all the time and I love when it is because it makes my time go by fast. We are getting into the Christmas season. Good deals, but not looking forward to the crabby people. But what else is new when you work in customer service you have to deal with crabby people. I dont really mind it so much anymore. Ok wait so maybe I do, I guess I just tend to ignore some of them. (hehe) Anyway... I will post more about other stuff... I just felt like i needed to post something because I hadn't in so long!!!!!

It's been a while!!!

Add Image
It has been a while since I have posted anything...... Sorry!!! Averi is getting so big. She turned 1 on July 19. Kyle and I were out of town on her birthday so we did her party a week later. (She doesnt know the difference) It was fun, just a little party in our back yard. I think she had fun..... She of course got cake everywhere, then Kyle went to give her a bath to wash off the cake and she broke out into a rash from the icing. But luckily it went away with in like 4 hours. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it but I didn't!!!! Averi is talking up a storm. She says lots of things and is starting to mimic what people do.... She is getting so tall(thanks Kyle). I mean she always has been but it is really showing now!!!

After being off for 2 months I had gotten a job a Big O Tires... Yeah not my favorite job, I was there for about 6 weeks and then I quit the other day because I did get a job at TJ Maxx. I am excited. I am going to be working part time!!!I I am super excited to start working for them. Anyways I will post more later!!!!!!

Time Flies

Add Image

I cannot believe in 2 weeks Averi is going to be 1!!!! Where does the time go, no one will ever know. She has grown so much I just can't believe my eyes!!!! It was like yesterday I was in the hospital waiting to meet her. What a wonderful baby she has been. I have no complaints on how good she is. Sometimes I feel like she has my dad in her saying "be good for your mommy and daddy, I love them very much and they deserve a good baby!!!" Which is good because in the last 7 months Kyle and I have been thru alot. With him getting diagonsed with Crohn's and all. I remember that day in October, she rolled over, I got it on video and it really brought me to tears because I was so proud of her. In November she got her first tooth right after Thanksgiving and then they just started to come all at once it seemed like and now she has 8. In Feburary we were at my cousins birthday party and we were really trying to get Averi to crawl. We just put something out in front of her and she wanted it so bad that she just went for it. It took her a few times but she got it down pat, there was no stopping her now!!! In April she started to walk. Kyle and I had worked with her every night. There were times when she got frusterated but she didn't want to quit. I mean it started with walking along the couch and then she would take a few steps away from the couch and then fall. My little girl just never gave up. Now she is almost 1 and I can't even keep up with her!!!!! She melts my heart every day!!!

WORK!!!!

So the liquidation process is going fairly well. They decided to take me off the sales floor and put me as a fixture selling associate. Well its going well all but the fixtures are not going anywhere. The liquidator "Steve" well he kinda sets the prices of the fixtures, well no one is buying them because they are too high priced. But yet he tells me and the other guy I am working with "Brian" that we really need to get on our game and start selling the fixtures. But he wont let us knock the prices down. I mean yeah he does say "work a deal with them" well honestly I really dont think that the deal I work with them is probably the deal he would like, but I look at it as if they are going to buy it for my deal its less for us to have to worry about. I mean I don't GIVE it to them but I think that they are getting a pretty good deal.
Our fixture area is a complete disaster but we have no room for the fixtures and I get in trouble because I am standing around talking, (what can I say I am a social butterfly) and Steve says "If you have nothing to do then you could go and make the fixture area shoppable!" Well the only problem is WE HAVE NO ROOM!!!!!! They just keep bringing these huge fixtures back to us and we have to cram them into a spot it will fit well then you can't get around to see the other fixtures. UGH!!!! What did I get myself into? I really enjoy it but at the same time, Steve comes off as a jerk. He seems like he expects you to know everything and then when I tell him I am sorry for bothering him, he says "your not a bother." Unfortunatly he makes me feel that way, or the fact that he words things so it sounds like you are stupid or something. I dont know. I guess you could say I am a little intimidated. I am frusterated too!!!! Oh well that is life, he is going to walk away from this with a job and us without one.

Teaching Averi early!!

So Kyle and I had picked Averi up from my mom's house as she was watching her while we went to my work party. So we had gotten home and we were playing with Averi for a bit before we decided to give her a bath. I had decided that I was going to wait and change her diaper until the bath water was ready so that I wouldn't waist a diaper. Well Kyle had went and started the bath, and I got Averi all ready and she knows when its bath time because she crawls to the bath room. Its the cutest thing to see a little bare bum hurrying to the bath room. Well Kyle had put her in the tub and was playing with her for while then I reminded him that he needed to call his mom to see if she could watch her for a little bit tomorrow. Well he was talking on the phone and playing with Averi and having a great time. Well he had gotten off the phone and, I was in the kitchen and i hear Kyle say " Averi, you are such a little turd" and I had said " why" then he told me that she had pooped in the tub. I just chuckled because it isn't the first time she has done that. So I go in the bathroom and Kyle has her sitting on the toilet and sure enought there was a little turd in the tub!!! She seems to know when to poop because its always in the tub!!! Gosh darnit!!!! So then Kyle is holding Averi and he is thinking really hard. He decides that he is going to finish her bath in the morning because it was late and he needed to clean the tub before putting her back in the tub!!!! She seems to think that it is funny when she poops during bath time!! In a way it is but you really can't help but laugh!!! She is going to hate these pictures when she gets older!!!! I love my little girl tho!!!!

Averi's first owie!!!!

Both Kyle and I had to work on Tuesday and so Averi spent the day with grandma Crawley. We also had softball practice and so we were going to leave Averi there, but before we went to practice, we went to play with her. We got there and Carla had said that she was climbing up the cabinet and it was by a heater that is on wheels. Well she slipped up the cabinet and fell and her foot had knocked over the the heater on to her arm, and burned her. Oh I feel so bad for my baby girl!!! It makes me want to cry. I just know how burns feel and they dont feel very good. But it makes me sad. Luckily she seems to not even notice it so that is good, and it doesnt seem to bother her at all. I think that it hurts me more then it does her. Oh well can't do anything now!!!!

It is finally here!

So as I said in my last blog, Gottschalks is going out of business! SO SAD!!! But today was the big liquidation sale. And I decided that people are rude when it comes to places going out or whatever. I mean they dont even give you at least one second to help them if you are helping another customer. I know most are curious but COME ON PEOPLE!!! Give me a break. I was helping a lady figure out prices on some things and clearly I was looking at her and talking to her, when 3 different customers came and interupeted me and said "How much is this?", "How long will you be open?", "When are you going to have better sales?" I mean hell people your guess is as good as mine with how much longer we are going to be open. But seriously I was helping this lady and get interupted by other people. Come on people have some common curtiousy, its not all about you!!!! I know it is only going to get worse. I am dreading the upcoming days especially when it comes to the weekends. UGH!!!! I work every one!!! I mean when people read the signs that are on the corners and stuff all they see is 60% off, they dont really see it. Then they bring all their stuff to the counter and after it is all rung and I tell them their total they say "Well your signs on the corners say 60% off!" Which they really say UP TO 60% off. So then they get mad and say well I dont want this then if its not that price. UGH I hate retail sometimes!!!!! I am a people person but when it is crazy like this I can't stand them. I know that is mean to say but it is soooooo true, and if it wasnt my job I would stay away!!! But yeah anyway, I am just going to have to get thru this!!! I always say to myself BUCK UP KAYLA!!!!! That is what I am going to have to do!!!!

The worst new ever!

So about 10:30 this morning I was at home playing with Averi, and my phone rang and it was work. I answered it, and it was my boss Michelle. She didn't seem happy like she always is when she calls to ask something. But I knew the second I heard her voice on why she was calling me. She called to tell me that our company Gottschalks had been bought out by a liquidator and that they would be liquidating as soon as the 2nd or 3rd of April. I am so sad because I have been at Gottschalks for almost 4 years and I hate to see another place close. I mean seriously what other places are people going to shop, we have no Dillards or Macy's. I just feel like I could cry all day long and really nothing would change. I think that most of all I am going to miss Michelle because I respect her so much and everything that has gone on thru this process she has stayed so POSITIVE!!! I really dont think I could. She is absolutely amazing. And I know after all of this she will be my friend and I can count on her for anything because that is the type of person she is. I also will miss Karen, she is the HR. What another amazing woman, I do look up to her and she has all of the care in the world and she takes time to listen when something is wrong. Today has been the most crappiest day, let alone the weather is horrible, so that is just crap all by its self!!!! I just hope that I can find a wonderful job and love it just as much as I loved mine, well I loved some of the people I work with!!! Please pray that everything will turn out ok and that I can find a new job soon!!!!

My little punkin!!!

Averi Jean is so cute. I just have to say how much I love her and love spending time with her. I just had to post this picture because it is so adorable. Kyle and I are going to Boise for my cousin Jenna's cheerleading competition and we are staying in a hotel. Well the hotel has a pool, so I thought that it would be so fun to take Averi to the pool. We were out shopping for swim suits and I had gotten and 18 month one because come summer she will be in about that size of clothes. So I tried it on her just too see what it looked like well it fit PERFECTLY. I thought to myself, "Uh oh I am going to have to get her a bigger one for the summer" Well my mom had bought this one she is wearing which is 12 months which fits her PERFECTLY too. But I was told that they do sag a little bit when you get them in the water. So I figure that this on will be just fine..... Aww but doesnt she look so cute. I will post more pictures from the first swimming adventure!!!! Averi said "mum" the other day. It was so cute because I was doing something in the kitchen and all of a sudden I heard " MUM MUM" it was so cute. I went to her and she just wanted my attention. So of course I sat and played with her. I just can't believe how big she is getting!!!!!

She is crawling!!!

So this morning I was putting my makeup on, and I just glanced over at Averi and watched her for a few minutes. Well she was just playing and minding her own little business and then I saw her get on all 4's and she kinda crawled. It wasn't a real long way but she did it. I was so happy.... Well tonight we were at my cousin's birthday party and of course we took Averi, we were just sitting around eating cake. (before we actually ate dinner LOL) Kyle and I were sitting on the floor and my mom and aunt went to go get pizza, and then Amber went to tend to Kali. Well Kyle had set Averi in one spot and stuck her toy across from her a little ways, and once again she crawled. It took her a few minutes but she did it. Man she is only 7 months old. I just cannot believe how much my little girl is growing. It just seemed like I was pregnant with her. I love her so very much. I am so proud of how well she is doing. So lets see Kyle was walking by 8 months and I was walking by 9 so it is a good possibility that she will be walking very soon. I always told myself that she was going to skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking. We will see how long it takes before she is up and walking and running away from us. I just love to see little kids running away from their parents thinking its a game, well it soon will be a game with us..... WOW I love being a mommy to my little Averi girl!!!!!

Update on Kyle

So some of you may know that in December, Kyle was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. He had been feeling really sick and his stomach had hurt and everything. That started about the beginning of November. He just wasn't himself. He could hardly eat, stand up straight. So he had been going to a Dr and that one wasn't sure what was wrong. They did xrays, urine samples, blood tests. Then he said that it is a possibility that he could have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). They gave him meds and they made him sick. I thought it was probably about time to establish a family Dr and so we did. Kyle called made an appt, that dr couldn't really tell what was wrong. He felt his stomach and Kyle said it hurt where is appendix was. Well the dr thought maybe he should have a cat scan. He went and got one and then that night we got a call from the dr telling him that he needed to be admitted ASAP because they found an abcess on his small intestine. So we went to the hosptial on Dec 19. He was put on IV antibiotics and they seemed to work just fine because he was feeling great. Well they released him on the 22nd. They had given him some more meds to take. Well in the meantime of all of this going on he had been losing weight. (not like he had weight to lose) So that was a concern of the drs. While on this medication he still felt sick and was losing MORE weight. So he had like 3 more cat scans and they said that the medication was working for a while and then his abcess hit a plateau and didnt get any smaller like it should. So they we decided to go with surgery because we knew for sure that the abcess was going to be gone and we wouldnt have to deal with it anymore. He had an appt. with the surgeon on Jan. 12, well he had called the gastro doc to ask some questions on Jan 10. and then he just basically told Kyle that he was going to be admitted again because he was really sick. So once again he was admitted the night of the 10th and then it was just a waiting game. He was put on antibiotics again. We were told that he wasnt leaving until he had surgery. So the surgeon ended up coming to Kyle's room and meeting with us.... Well he told us everything that he was going to do which was wonderful because he spent so much time talking to us and making sure that we had understood everything that was going to happen in surgery. He has surgery Jan. 13 and he went so well. But poor Kyle had lost so much more weight in the hospital because he was on ice chips for 5 days. We first go to the hospital he weighed 154 and when we got home he was under 140. But we got him home and it took a while for him to gain strength back but he did and he was out of work for 5 weeks. He went back to work on President's Day. Kyle is doing wonderful he weighs just over 160, so he is gaining his weight back slowly but surely. His Crohn's isnt gone but the active part they had cut out when they removed his abcess, oh yeah and they took his appendix too. So now he is just on meds for ever and lets hope we will never have to go thru this again. But there is just a little scoop of what has gone on with us lately!!!!

Lovin the life of "MOM"

I hate to go to work and leave my little smiley face girl in the mornings or afternoons. She just brightens up my day. One of the best feelings in the world is when I get off work I come home or go pick her up from Gramma Noni or Grandma Crawley's house and she has the biggest smile on her face. Like she missed me all day. For instants today... I went to work this morning and I didn't have a long shift but I still missed my lil punkin face. I got home and she was so excited to see me. I had to go to the bathroom before I picked her up but when I came out of the bathroom she just wanted to spend time with mommy. Aww so sweet. I love it. Then this evening I was doing some stuff for Uppercase Living on the computer and I was on there for a long time well when I came up stairs she was kinda crying but not crying, so I picked her up and she was just fine. All she wanted was a little of mommy's attention. Aww my little girl. Then she started to get fussy while I was holding her and Kyle said that she had eaten not to long ago so I knew she wasn't hungry but she was just really fussy. She has had a runny nose lately and has been coughing, so my first thought was well maybe she doesn't feel good. But we took her temperature and she seemed just fine. Well I gave her some teething tablets and sure enough that did the trick. She was just fine and back to happy little Averi. Wow I can't believe she is getting more teeth. The Dr's are just impressed on how well she is doing, she weighs 19lbs and 3oz and she is 28 1/2 inches long. HOLY COW. They say she is the height of a 1 year old. I have a tall little girl!!!!! She just needs to slow down!!!! But I love her to death......

Not so little anymore!

My little Averi is just growing up... I can't believe it. She is 6 months old now and before we know it she is going to be crawling!!! I bet with in the next 2 weeks she will be, she has a drive to want to crawl but just hasn't yet...She has learned how to clap also!!! The other day she was puckering up like she was trying to give you a kiss but of course she wouldn't give you a kiss, and that same day she just started clicking her tongue. Not really with her tongue inside her mouth on the outside but making the same noise... Last night we had a bunch of family over for the super bowl and I was down stairs on the computer looking at wedding stuff with Amber and I got a text message from Kyle and it said "Averi is saying dadada!" WOW could my daughter really be at the stage of talking. I mean I know she has her little baby babbles but really could it be..... I mean she is only 6 months, I know some kids do things sooner but hmmm i just dont know... I am sure she has no idea what it means because she is just saying it. We try to get her to say "DADA" and MUMMUM" and she looks like she is mouthing it to us but wow my baby is getting so big!!! I just can't even believe it.... I bet when we go to the Dr. tomorrow he will be impressed with how well she is progressing.... Our next step is to teach her sign language... I think it will be a great learning tool for her and Kyle and I....
Until next time....

Seems how all of the Crawley family was is town, we decided that it was time for Family Pics!!! This was quite a challange, lots of little kids but we managed and the pictures turned out wonderful. Thanks KC Photography!!!!
It was so nice to have everyone of Kyle's family here for the holidays. We sure did enjoy their company and we can't wait til we can see them again. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season as did we......
